Surf Bar Teams Across Oklahoma Took A Step Out From Behind the Counter this Spring to Meet Our Communities

“Surf’s Up! How can I serve you today?” Is what guests would hear had they stepped inside or gone through the drive-thru of a Surf Bar. This spring, we decided to take this cheerful greeting outside our four walls. Our teams have had the absolute pleasure of meeting so many new faces at the events Surf Bar has participated in.

Out in Woodward, our West Food Truck team, led by franchisee Michael Price, rolled into the 2026 Downtown Food Truck Throw Down and drove away with the title of “Friendliest Truck.” Not “flashiest,” not “fanciest”… friendliest. Seeing Surf Bar’s mission come to life in every city our truck travels to will never get old. Congratulations to the team out west that pulled it off!

Meanwhile, over in Midwest City, franchisees Palmer and Derek Jones brought the flavor and energy to Taste of Midwest City. Drumroll please… Surf Bar took home the win there too! Surf Bar’s Midwest City store has become a local staple, not just because of what’s on the menu, but because of the people behind the counter who genuinely care. Congratulations, Midwest City team!

And then there was the OKC Memorial Marathon Race Expo, where we got to meet thousands of you. New faces, familiar faces, quick chats, long chats, all of it. There’s something electric about being in a space where everyone is showing up for something bigger than themselves. We are grateful to have been part of that energy, even in a small way, and putting real conversations behind the names we see on orders every day.

When we say we love our community, this is what we mean. So whether you’ve been with us since day one or just stopped by for the first time at an expo booth, thanks for being part of it.

Now if only we had time to dive into all the fun being had across our nine locations… we’d tell you about the Stormin’ Norman Half Marathon, Taste of Stillwater, Camp Claphans 5k & Fun Run, Club Pilates open houses, and so much more. Alas, time is up and we must wrap up this long monologue. Parting thoughts: thank you from the bottom of our hearts for letting Surf Bar be part of your families, your traditions, your fundraisers. We are honored beyond measure.
